For me, my life was my work and that was about being a Go Giver, achieving goals while helping others achieve theirs, doing a good job, making money, working hard and playing hard. When things were hard, I just worked harder. And that how it was done.
Until I got sick. It was the kind of sick where doctors shook their heads and said that by all measures, I was fine. It was the kind of sick that shattered my paradigm of life, work, meaning and purpose and how they come together to make a life fulfilled.
I decided to get well and that was going to take a whole new way of looking at and being in the world.
I left the main stream and learned energy medicine, how to use food as medicine, embodiment practices, coaching, and loving kindness.
Loving Kindness is a radical notion for a person with a high achieving constitution like mine. Loving kindness means I celebrate everything I've done and haven't done each and every day. Try it. At the end of every day, put your hand on your head and your heart and say, "Good job. You did it." and "Good job. You didn't do it." Do it with the same amount of love, care and enthusiasm for each statement.
Through it all, I'm still a Go Giver. I still care very much about achieving goals while helping others achieve theirs. But I go about it in a very different way. For I've learned that there are as many definitions of success as there are people in the world. I've learned that there are equally as many paths to fulfillment. It's up to us to figure out what that is for ourselves and to commit to living that life. For the world needs the gift of our authenticity now more than ever.
I'm Kate Eskew. I'm on a mission to reboot our dreams, get us connected with what makes us feel alive, and take action on what's important to us in our lives. As a certified Coactive Coach, an expert in energy medicine, an empath, and an encourager of seeing and doing things differently, my mission is to help you calibrate your energy and focus your attention on living a life you love.
